Precautions for purchasing CNC machine tools from overseas

As a high-precision CNC machine tool, when you purchase it from overseas, strict control is required in transportation, customs clearance, installation, commissioning, and subsequent maintenance. The following reminders require our special attention:

Transportation and Customs Clearance:

1. Choose a professional logistics company

We need to prioritize selecting precision equipment transporters to ensure that the equipment is shock resistant and anti tilt throughout the entire process.

We also need to confirm the transportation method: sea freight should pay attention to moisture prevention (desiccant should be placed inside the container), while air freight should ensure fast customs clearance and reduce the risk of detention.

We can purchase full transportation insurance: it is recommended to cover 120% of the equipment value to cope with possible transportation risks.

2. Packaging and fixing requirements

The original packaging is preferred, or the customized wooden box conforming to international transportation standards is filled with shockproof materials (such as high-density foam or air cushion).

Equipment fixation: Each motion axis (X/Y/Z) must be locked, the main shaft must be reinforced with fixed blocks, the turret must be zeroed and locked to prevent mechanical damage caused by transportation vibrations.

Anti tilt and shock resistance: During transportation, the tilt angle of the equipment should not exceed 15 ° to avoid inversion or side placement. Long distance transportation requires regular inspection of the fixed state.

3. Customs clearance and document preparation

Advance confirmation of import policies: Some countries have special requirements for the import of CNC machine tools (such as export licenses, technical reviews, etc.), and local agents need to be consulted in advance.

Arrival acceptance and installation debugging:

1. Arrival inspection
Outer packaging inspection: Check for any signs of collision or water immersion, and take a video of the entire unboxing process as evidence.

Check accessories: Check the random accessories (such as cutting tools, fixtures, manuals, etc.) against the packing list, and contact the supplier immediately if there are any missing items.

Preliminary mechanical inspection: Check whether the guide rail and screw are corroded or damaged, and whether the electrical control cabinet is damp.

2. Preparation of installation environment

Foundation requirements: The walking machine has extremely high requirements for ground levelness, and a foundation that meets the standards needs to be poured in advance

Electricity and gas source:

Voltage stability (within ± 10%), if necessary, install a voltage regulator

The gas source needs to be dry and free of impurities (with added filters)

Workshop temperature and humidity control:
It is recommended to maintain an ambient temperature of 20 ± 2 ℃ and a humidity of 40% -60% to avoid accuracy changes caused by temperature differences.

3. Accuracy calibration and trial operation

Must be debugged by professional engineers: It is recommended that suppliers or original factory technicians install on site to avoid accuracy deviation caused by self debugging.

Key testing items:

Radial runout of spindle (<000000>le; 0.005mm)
Repetitive positioning accuracy of each axis

Test cutting of workpieces to verify machining accuracy

Empty run test: Run empty for at least 24 hours to observe for any abnormal vibrations or noise.

Suggestions for after-sales maintenance and long-term use:

1. Ensure after-sales support
Clear warranty terms: The warranty for machine tools purchased overseas may be limited, and it is necessary to confirm whether international warranty or local technical support is provided.

Spare parts reserve: Purchase vulnerable parts (such as bearings, screws, seals) in advance to avoid production delays caused by logistics.
Remote diagnostic support: Agree with suppliers on remote fault diagnosis services to reduce downtime.

2. Operation and maintenance training

Operator training: Ensure that workers are familiar with the equipment operation process and avoid malfunctions caused by misoperation.

Daily maintenance points:

Daily inspection of lubrication system (guide rail, screw oil level)

Regularly replace coolant and filters

Keep the electrical control cabinet clean to prevent dust accumulation

3. Long term use optimization

Regular accuracy testing: Conduct a full machine accuracy calibration every 3-6 months to ensure stable processing quality.

Software upgrade: Pay attention to the CNC system updates released by manufacturers to improve equipment performance.

Establish maintenance records: record the operating status and maintenance history of equipment for easy troubleshooting.

Maintaining systematic management is necessary to maximize the value of overseas procurement and avoid high maintenance costs or production delays caused by negligence.
